We are proud to share our work on a 4,000 m² commercial development for Merrychef Ltd, doubling production capacity on a challenging brownfield site. Appointed through RIBA Stages 2-6, we delivered a turnkey package of civil, structural, and infrastructure services. Our work included waste classification of historic spoil stockpiles, geotechnical investigations, and bulk earthworks modelling to deliver an economical level strategy. Early collaboration with Network Rail and the Lead Local Flood Authority ensured delivery of effective drainage strategies, culvert repairs, and detailed flood risk assessments. Our structural engineers specified cost-effective ground-bearing slabs, reinforced pad foundations, and a twin bay steel portal frame, achieving spans of 32m. We reconfigured service yards to maintain operations during construction, and adhered to the UK National BIM Framework (Level 2) for design coordination, using a Common Data Environment and Autodesk Construction Cloud for clash detection. This project highlights our ability to deliver high-quality, integrated designs within the commercial sector. 🏗
