Reducing Embodied Carbon Through Better Design: How Our In-House Revit Tool Supports Sustainable Structural Design
Reducing embodied carbon starts with making informed decisions early in the design process.
That's why our BIM & Technology team has been developing Dice Tools – our in-house suite of applications designed to help our structural and civil engineers work smarter, faster and more collaboratively.
Our Embodied Carbon Calculator
One of the latest additions is our Embodied Carbon Calculator, integrated directly into Revit. By embedding carbon reporting into the design workflow, our engineers can assess embodied carbon from the earliest project stages, giving project teams meaningful data when it matters most.
How it Works
Rather than carbon becoming a compliance exercise at the end of a project, Dice Tools enables proactive conversations throughout design development. Early visibility of embodied carbon allows us to explore alternative structural solutions, compare options and engage with contractors sooner to identify practical opportunities for carbon reduction before key decisions are locked in.

The Result
The result is a more informed, collaborative approach that supports better outcomes for our clients and the environment.
As the industry continues its journey towards net zero, we're committed to investing in digital innovation that empowers our engineers to deliver more sustainable designs, backed by reliable data and integrated workflows.
