Dice are supporting the delivery of The Priory in Worksop - a public realm and leisure development aimed at creating a more connected, accessible, and engaging space for the local community.

This brownfield redevelopment brings together civil engineering, structural design, geoenvironmental expertise, and transport planning to transform the site into a vibrant destination with long-term community value. Our involvement began at the pre-planning stage, helping to inform a robust and deliverable scheme.

Scope of Development

The scheme includes a mix of infrastructure and leisure facilities:

  • A new pedestrian footbridge over the canal, improving connectivity across the site
  • A purpose-built activity centre, including: crazy golf, bowling, a climbing wall and children’s adventure play area
  • Enabling works and supporting infrastructure, including new substations and site preparation

Brownfield & Geoenvironmental Considerations

As a brownfield site, careful consideration has been given to ground conditions, site constraints, and enabling works. Our geoenvironmental engineering input supports:

  • Safe and efficient site clearance
  • Ground investigation and risk management
  • Integration of foundation and infrastructure design with existing ground conditions

Engineering Approach

Our focus has been on delivering efficient and coordinated civil and structural engineering solutions that align with the wider project vision.

By working closely with the wider design and construction team, we aim to ensure that infrastructure, substructure, and superstructure elements are fully integrated, practical to construct, and suited to the site conditions.

Community Impact

Once complete, The Priory development will provide a high-quality leisure destination in Worksop, supporting local regeneration and encouraging increased footfall, activity, and community use.

The new footbridge will also play an important role in improving pedestrian connectivity across the canal, linking key parts of the site.
