Dice are working with Tim Moss Architecture and Wakefield College to deliver a new £4m Construction Skills Building, providing state of the art technical and teaching spaces to train the next generation of construction professionals.

The new college provides training and assessment in bricklaying and other vocational construction skills. The development consists of a two-storey, steel-framed building featuring a double-height workshop, teaching areas, changing rooms, toilets, and storage, along with an external, covered bricklaying yard. At the front of the building, a new car park and landscaping enhance accessibility, while a service yard at the rear facilitates deliveries.

In collaboration with Moss Architecture, Dice initially developed a business case to secure project funding, followed by concept studies to identify the most cost-effective structural solutions, reserving budget for building fabric and fit-out. Detailed design is ongoing, with Director-led services ensuring experienced oversight at every stage.

To add further value, Dice is supporting students and staff throughout the project, offering site visits, lectures during the design and construction phases, and opportunities for students to visit our office to learn about careers in civil engineering.
