Dice are working with Tim Moss Architecture and Wakefield College to deliver a new £4m Construction Skills Building, providing state of the art technical and teaching spaces to train the next generation of construction professionals.
The new college will be utilised for teaching and assessing brick laying and other vocational construction skills. The development comprises a two storey structure, framed in steel, containing a double height workshop, teaching spaces, changing facilities, toilets and storage. Externally a covered bricklaying yard is provided.
A new service yard provides access for deliveries, whilst a new car park and landscaping scheme is provided to the front of the building.
Our Services
Working collaboratively with Moss Architecture, Dice initially produced a business case to secure funding for the project, before providing concept studies to identify the most economic structural solutions, ensuring budget was reserved for the building fabric and fit out. Detailed design is currently on going. As with all of our projects, our services are Director led, ensuring the right level of experience throughout all project stages.
Dice are providing added value to the client through a commitment to support students and staff throughout our involvement in the project. This includes providing site visits and lectures to students during design and construction stages. We are also offering students the opportunity to visit our office to learn more about careers in civil engineering.
