Our structural team is evolving
A lot has happened over the last year and at this point in 2020, we only had a couple of members of staff on the structural side of the team. Fast forward to now and a lot has changed!
Following a number of exciting new instructions and several key projects, we’ve found ourselves needing to grow the team. So first up, we appointed Charlie Smith as a senior structural engineer. Having gained his Masters of Engineering at the University of Leeds, Charlie joins us with over 5 years of engineering consultancy experience. He’s already been heavily involved in a number of residential and commercial projects and we look forward to seeing him advance his career with us.
Having recruited our first REVIT technician in 2020, we were on the hunt for another by early 2021 and subsequently hired Jack Simmons as a senior REVIT technician. Jack has been developing his REVIT skills for a number of years, having started his career as an engineering technician before beginning to specialise in REVIT in 2015. After proving to be a valuable asset to the team, Jack also became the BIM leader. It’s not just recruitment happening on the structural team though, as we have an exciting promotion to announce too. Having joined us as our very first REVIT technician in summer 2020, Niall impressed with his skills and wealth of knowledge from over 12 years of industry experience so has now been promoted to senior REVIT technician.
Speaking of his promotion, Niall said: “Working at a customer-focused business like Dice is a really great opportunity, and it’s been good to continue developing my skill set. Seeing the team continue to grow has been really exciting and it’s been great to continue learning from my fellow structural engineers. “As well as the projects themselves, it’s the supportive culture that makes Dice such an amazing place to work. Wayne and Raj really champion collaborative working and put onus on making sure the team is happy. There’s a real sense of team spirit!” Nezih Yasdiman is the newest recruit to the structural side of the business and he joins us as the team leader. An experienced associate structural engineer, Nezih has spent nearly 10 years working in the industry, firstly as an engineer in Turkey and then within the consulting sector after moving to the UK. With a vast range of knowledge and expertise, we’re looking forward to seeing how he leads the structural team and further develops the skills of the other engineers!
